Selecting the right packaging machinery is a crucial decision for the success of any product, particularly in the food industry.
In 1947 Dan Woodman and a team of engineers designed and manufactured the first Automated Weighing and Packaging Machine. Herman Lay, founder of the H.W Lay Co worked closely with Dan Woodman to develop the first automated potato chip packaging
machine.

Our history as a specialized ”Scale maker” dates back to 1920 when Kawanishi Machine Works established a scale manufacturing section, which later became the separate company, Yamato, in 1945. Since then, as we approached our 100th anniversary in 2020, we have introduced new weighing equipment and weighing systems, for a more energy-saving life.

Yamato Scale was one of the first companies to realise the true potential that lay in the technology of multihead weighing and at the end of the 1970s Yamato developed the first multihead weigher. In 1979, the first multihead weigher to be equipped with load cells was introduced. In 1988, Yamato was the first weighing company in the world to create mixing- software for multihead weighers that would enable the precise weighing of mixed applications.

We are committed to create new concepts in weighing, developing innovative products, and expanding our presence worldwide, so that our established ”fixed-weight weighing” technology can enhance productivity and efficiency across various industries and support better quality of life globally.

The Yamatostats Line Monitor is a powerful tool to record production information, due to diligence records and legislative information from your equipment. Weight and yield information from the Multihead Weighers and Checkweighers; audit records from the metal detectors and performance from complete line, are all collected in real time to give the production and technical managers the tools to reduce costs and ensure compliance.
